PracticoBear uses a third-party AI service to reply to you during speaking practice.
What data is processed and how it is collected. What you say into the microphone is converted to text by your device's own speech recognition (Apple Speech Recognition on iOS, Google Speech Recognition on Android). The only data collected is that text, together with the earlier messages of the same conversation and the practice language you selected. Your voice recording is never sent to our servers or to the AI service. Your name, e-mail, contacts, location and device identifiers are not collected or sent to the AI service.
Who it is shared with. The text is sent to our own server (Devita Soft), which forwards it to the Claude API operated by Anthropic, PBC (1 Letterman Drive, San Francisco, CA, USA). Anthropic's privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models, and Anthropic commits to protections equivalent to those described in this policy. No other third party receives this data.
How it is used. Solely to generate the AI reply you hear. It is not used for advertising, profiling, model training, or sold to anyone.
Retention. Your conversation history is stored only on your own device, never on our servers. You can delete it at any time from the conversation list in the app, and deleting the app removes all of it.
Consent and withdrawal. Your explicit in-app consent is requested before any data is sent. If you decline, nothing is sent. You can review this disclosure and withdraw your consent at any time by tapping the shield icon on the main screen.
Besides the AI service described above, the app uses Google Firebase, provided by Google LLC (and Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA). Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google acts as our data processor and is contractually required, under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms, to provide protections equivalent to those described in this policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics — when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a diagnostic report is sent containing the stack trace, the app version, your device model and operating system version, and a randomly generated installation identifier. It does not contain your name, e-mail, the contents of your conversations, or anything you said.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — used to deliver push notifications. It registers a device token that identifies this installation of the app so a notification can reach it. You are asked for notification permission when you first open the app, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
- Firebase Analytics — collects standard app-usage measurements gathered automatically by the SDK (such as app opens, session length, screen views, device model, operating system version, and an approximate region derived from your IP address), so we can see how the app is used and improve it. We do not log your conversations, your messages, or any content you create as analytics events.
This data is used only to keep the app working, to fix crashes and to improve the app. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to build an advertising profile. The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Google may process this data on servers located in the United States and other countries; where required, such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
